Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath, promises those who turn from their own pleasures on the Lords day, and call it a delight, that He would make them to ride on the heights of the earth, Isa. 58:14. Jesus makes this promise because after He created the heavens and the earth, He rested and blessed the day, Gen 2:3. Unfortunately, it is believed by many that there is no Sabbath (rest) for the Christian; that since Christs work of redemption, our blessed day of rest has been taken from us. Could this be true? Could the greatest act of love cause the world to be left without a sacred day to worship God? Has God truly removed the Sabbath, or is the Serpent up to his old trick which we first encountered in the garden when he asked Eve, Indeed did God say...?
