This study aims to identify and interpretcharacteristic periodic variations in surfacefeatures by analyzing measurements of water level,conductivity, temperature, rainfall and barometricpressure data. The measurements are filtered using anadaptive wavelet based filter to extract theinfluence of earth and gravity tides, rainfall, andbarometric pressure. Fourier analysis is used tofurther examine the content of the extracted signals.A system dynamics model of a spring is formulated todemonstrate fundamental heat and mass transfer. Thisstudy aims to provide an understanding of the effectsof periodic forcing functions on geothermal featuresbased on high accuracy measurements taken at highsampling rates. Once the amplitude and frequency ofany forcing functions have been identified, these canbe monitored to minimise the time to identify andquantify any changes in reservoir characteristics.
