The subjects for the study inthis book were chosen from the upper-intermediatelevel students at the Preparatory Program in anEnglish-medium University, Istanbul Bilgi University,in Turkey. For a detailed understanding of the natureof the coherence-related difficulties/problems ofstudents Turkish and English essays, this book useda pragmatic analysis, involving the use of GricesCooperative Principle and maxims and sub-maxims ofcooperation.
