AIDS has rapidly become the most feared diseases of our times. The fatality of the disease combined with the rapid spread in the last few decades has made it a global concern. With the advent of highly active antiretroviral therapy, the prognosis and the outlook towards the disease has changed and it has become a chronic manageable disease from a disease which once meant a death sentence. Adherence to the treatment is of paramount importance with HAART as the outcome of non adherence is drastic. This study is thus an effort to unravel the determinants which affect adherence in a population on HAART in a hospital based setting in central India. It would help better understand, what needs to be done further, in order to attain the goal of cent per cent adherence and what is it, that plagues the target today. The book would be found useful by anybody dealing with HIV positive patients including clinicians, nurses, medical and nursing students, counselors and researchers working on the subject.
