The main aim of the study undertaken was to assess the extent to which children are protected from degrading treatment within the confines of the institution that caters for them. the objectives of the study were to assess measures put in place to protect children from degrading treatment at the childrens home, to ascertain whether children experienced degrading treatment and to dertemine ways of strengthening measures of protecting children against degrading treatment. A variety of measures which have been put in place to protect children were to employ older women who were widowed and had their own children at their own homes. Children were also alowed to visit and see their friends and relatives where they could vent out their problems. some children wished their stay at the institution could be shortened because of being abused.
