How to make choice between showing the truth and shocking the audience? Which ethical principles are applied when deciding about broadcasting images of violence? What is the role of political, social, professional environment; media traditions and current media landscape? The book compares the way the violence is visualised by BBC World and one of the leading Ukrainian TV channels Inter. The conclusions are based on the comparison of their main newscasts, editorial principles and the interviews with the journalists. Comparing media companies in different countries, the work analyzes some general tendencies and points out the perspectives of reporting on violence.
