Froudacity: West Indian Fables by James Anthony Froude was written in 1889 by John Jacob Thomas as a rebuttal to James Anthony Froudes 1888 book The English in the West Indies. Froude attacked the British West Indian colonies for wanting to establish self-government. He felt that if blacks were allowed to vote they would choose leaders who would suppress the white people living in the colonies. Thomas was outraged at this racist attitude and he refuted Froudes claims in this work.
