Poppy characterizes Balaams talking donkey from the biblical book of Numbers chapter 22. A portion of chapter 22 is included at the back of the storybook. The St. James family had been struggling with their Christian faith and the ability to live it trusting in Gods love. They were caught up in daily tasks and did not have time to visit with Jesus. This day would prove to be especially difficult. Circumstances begin to change because of a young boys prayer. This storybook can be read by children ages nine to twelve but can also be read to and understood by a younger audience.
