Hallelujah Hidden Treasures

This poetry that Ive written is non-fiction and isbased primarily on parts of my personal life, thelives of family members, as well as lives of my loveones. I began writing poetry doing a period ofcondolence during the lost of family members,beginning in 1996. In less than one year in1996-1997, I lost three love ones that was very dearto me, including my mom. I did not realize I was actually writing poetry at thetime until one day my sister, Patricia called me andasked me to write a poem for a deceased family memberfor a funeral. I sat still after receiving thetelephone call and encountered all of my emotion and Iallowed the Holy Spirit to take over. I calledPatricia later during the day and read what was givento me by the leading of the Holy Spirit. I deliveredthis poem to her and later during the day, she calledme and told me her son wept after reading it becauseit was truthful and emotional. When I was a child, I loved poetry and I wasfascinated with the lyrics in poetry. I tried to rhymewords, but I couldnt put two words together that hadrhythm. In 1996, I found myself writing about my deceased loveones during my grieving period. I also wrote abouta man and a woman that were former church members thatgot married this in 2005. I was elated for the both ofthem and I wrote a poem especially for them, while ina moment of stillness. It is amazing how God will give you a spiritual giftand if you do not recognize that what you have is agift, then you will miss it. However, I didrecognized the gift of drawing that God had given meas a child. Theres an old saying, If you dont useit, you will lose it. Well, I dont think I am asgood in my drawings as I was in my adolence years, butI dont think I have lost it either. I wanted to usedrawings, because I believe when people are readingabout certain events, especially in poetry, they canget even a greater visualization of the picture ofevents. I like tr
