In the Bible, Jesus Christ gave a mission that was not to solely make converts to the Christian faith, but rather to make disciples. What are disciples? Disciples are people who follow in the way of their teacher. The purpose of this book is to guide a brand new believer through foundational themes of the Christian faith in a method that allows the new believer to transform into a new disciple. This method has been known as the Discovery Bible Study (DBS) method. Rather than teaching the new believer everything, the guide leader will read scriptures together with the new believer. The guide leader will then ask basic questions about the scriptures in a way that creates space for the new believer to come to their conclusions about what they believe. This guide has weekly reading assignments to help the new believer understand who Jesus is, who they are in Christ, and how they are to conduct themselves as a disciple.
