This book is about an old fur trapper who was at one time a sheriff, and a stage coach driver. He is attacked by a bear, and almost killed but saved by an Indian woman who had been abandon by her people because she had been kidnapped, and sexually used by a white man. They go on to become man and wife after she becomes pregnant with what turns out to be twins. Their life continues to get better over the years, and Jasper creek becomes their home. With him finally becoming sheriff, and mayor of this town, their life flourishes as their love grows stronger each day. This is a story of fiction reality, with lots of realistic things happening, some good, and some bad.
