Lynch was the owner of the original Lynchs Ferry, which played a key role in the Texas Revolution.She is a member of the Solomon Barrow Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic, Baytown, Texas, and a charter member of the Descendants of Austins Old Three Hundred Colonists.Another ancestor, Stephen Jefferson Stanley, settled in Zavala, Texas in 1828 with Lorenzo De Zavalas Colony. Keels was born in Zavala, not far from where her ancestors settled. Her parents were Pamelia Vianna Reed and Stephen Jefferson Stanley IV.Keels graduated from Houston Business College and Lee College School of Vocational Nursing in Baytown, Texas.
