Floretta is blessed with the most loving, wonderful supportive sons, family members she lives near in Illinois, daughters-in-laws, and beautiful grandchildren. Floretta has been teaching children for over 20 years. Her Philosophy on learning has changed overtime. She has been training students on and off since 1978. In the beginning, she demonstrated the basics, showing children how to write their name, knowing the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, etc.. She was successful in doing that from her heart. Floretta teaches life skills realizing children need to be taught about life. How to get along and communicate with people and how to solve a conflict. How to control their feelings and their actions when they are angry or get hurt by someone. What words are you using? She created a space in the classroom called the Talk, Forgive, and Reconcile area. She put pictures on the wall in that section illustrating each message. Floretta discussed with them what each term meant and let them know that this area is the space they will go to sit and talk out their issues. They started coming to her, saying a certain individual caused me to be sad. They would dialog, at first when the individual said I?m sorry the other would reply ?It?s ok? She would explain to them not to answer it?s ok because it was not right for them to harm them. The correct thing to say is I forgive you. Floretta watched the class work through these changes.It was clear these children understood the meaning of conversations and actions because she heard interesting conversations during her time of meditation. Floretta knows Youngsters will become adults and run businesses and ministries. If leaders do not teach them now to the best of their ability to live peaceably in this world with all men, living life may be financially rich but lonely for them.
