She started translating it to read it to her eldest son. When she finished the translations, she was encouraged her to go to Albert Bonnier's publishing house. She convinced him that the book would be a great sensation. He published it as a book in 1930. She opened her own dance school in 1934 and became famous as a dance teacher as well. She was born as Brita Gemmel on March 20, 1902 in the Rock of Skåne, Sweden. She grew up in Stockholm from the age of six. She was married three times and outlived all her husbands. Her first husband was Ragnar of Geijerstam (1901-1946).
