Diagnosed with cancer in 2012, Naz began documenting the journey through her art to help her process and capture the deep emotions she experienced. The result is a thought-provoking piece of work that will impact and touch everyone who has been affected by their own or loved ones' cancer journey. All proceeds will go to the author's chosen cancer charities and providing the book at hospitals and hospices. For three months in 2015, Naz underwent three months of recovery in the care of a wonderful hospice. Her following words describe how ONE DREAM AWAY came about. While she will never see the complete book she dreamed of, her legacy will live on in this whimsical portrayal of the pain and beauty of this short life we have all been given. Naz writes, "Surrounded by other patients with far more aggressive diseases, I found that I too could offer them support through holding hands or allowing myself to hug them and understand their pain. I saw how we as beings are one, and all we needed was love and care. Having also lost my own father to bone cancer, I realised how it really felt to be weak and fatigued. My dreams of achieving every little goal was heightened as life began to be more precious. I had to find a way to put to use my inner feelings into a picture of pure emotion.”
