In the historiography on the history of Physical Education since prehistory has been influenced by society. At that time, physical activities were restricted to defend and attack, the struggle for survival led to natural movements. Primitive man moved from place to place in search of food, marching, climbing trees, climbing, swimming, jumping and throwing their different throwing weapons. Physical Education has undergone several changes since its emergence in prehistory to the present day, where it is inserted as a curricular component in basic education. Chapter 01 aims to present a brief approach on the history of Physical Education in Brazil, seeking to present the main changes in the evolution of Physical Education in Brazil since the prehistoric period until today. Chapter 02 brings a study of a field research, having as a general objective to investigate, from the perception of high school students, how are the Physical Education classes and the contents worked by teachers.
