This vintage book contains Charles Lamb’s 1907 collection of children’s stories; Tales from Shakespeare. Written in collaboration with his sister, it was intended to present to the young reader an introduction to the study of Shakespeare, and contains versions of Shakespeare’s works without the archaic language and complicated storylines. This timeless volume is perfect for young children with an interest in reading, and would make for a great addition to the family collection. Charles Lamb (1775 - 1834) was an English writer and essayist, best known for his Essays of Elia and this edition, Tales from Shakespeare - which he produced in conjunction with his sister; Mary Lamb. Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. We are republishing this book now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition - complete with a specially commissioned new biography of the author.
