    The nineteenth century is a remarkable period in the Indian history with its constructive, elegant and renascent culture in the socio-cultural atmosphere of not only in Bengal but also of India. These journals possessed all the excellent characteristics, like awareness of the day to day happenings, perfectness of news etc. The Modern Review and Prabasi became, with years, became extremely necessary for the contemporary thinking of Indian political leaders. These journals covered almost every imaginative subject and went fully packed with information.
