Imagine Elizabeth Gilbert (author of Eat, Pray, Love) got into a bar fight with Guru Gurumuk after taking one too many trips to Burning Man and a few too many martinis. The result would be The Intimacy of Strangers. Jennifer Keys, SPHR, a Burning Man veteran, literary connoisseur and Labor Law Oracle, had the opportunity to travel to India and Indonesia for work and shares her stories of travel looking for meaning, spirituality and a boyfriend with a twisted perspective. The stories are part travelogue, part fantasy (especially the parts where men fall madly in love with her while she is wearing a burka) and all left-bent humor. She considers them to be ideal airplane or bathroom reading and hopes you have a red pen out with to correct her grammatical and spelling errors as she did the to the Honolulu advertiser in the 1980s while in high school. The stories are entertaining, whimsical and relevant to only about 15 people on the planet. Please enjoy and take them for what they are - a chunky girls version of Chelsea Handler. If she were in Asia and had her clothes sent to North Korea.
