Major Granmayeh was a Fighter Pilot in the Iranian Air Force, piloted the F-5 and F-4 Fighter/Bomber aircraft, during his service times. Experienced two major accidents with F-5 aircraft, miraculously survived both accidents. He refused to serve the revolution which in turn led to a choice, Flee Iran or be executed. Fearing for his life and his families Major Granmayeh ultimately escaped along with his family. Major Granmayeh and family find refuge in the United States on December 1982. Unfortunately he had to leave his mother behind due to old age and health complications. Due to his mothers illness in Iran Major Granmayeh had to go back to Iran one last time on July 1990 to comfort his mother on her death bed. When he tried to leave the country the government of Iran confiscated his passport and banned him to exit the country. For a second time Hassan has to come up with another strategy to escape for the last time. He graduated from the Air Force Academy of Iran and school of fighter pilot training in Texas, graduated from the Air University of Montgomery Alabama, has a Master degree of Aeronautical Science from Pacific Western University of California. He is the author of the book-title The Last Escape.
