    Widow Jannis Holmes, a brilliant academic, teams up with engineer Jack Brewster to develop and put into place a statistical program that will move Air Command Corporation into a manufacturing leadership position. That being more easily said than done, the pair must cope with managers who have their own agenda for implementing the program. Facing a fixed deadline, the two push to get the program developed on schedule while managing to further an intimate relationship outside the workplace. A serious family issue develops for Mrs. Holmes, removing her from the team but not from her relationship with Brewster. Justice for scheming company managers with separate agendas comes into play when the program meets the deadline. When retaliation aimed at Brewster backfires, Jack is awarded acclaim for his leadership and relentless effort to get the statistical program up and running.
