This preaching resource for Lent and Easter, Cycle C, provides model sermons based on nine texts from Luke and nine from John. In addition to the Sundays in these liturgical seasons, messages are also provided for Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Ascension Day (or Ascension Sunday). Buchheim is Professor of Preaching at Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa. A graduate of Wartburg College and Wartburg Seminary, he has been awarded honorary doctorates from both institutions. He has pursued studies at St. Andrews University in Scotland. Having served pastorates in Waterloo and Waverly, Iowa, he served as Executive Assistant to the District President and, later, Bishop of the Iowa District, the American Lutheran Church. He and his wife Dona are the parents of five children.
