In The Road to Damascus, the divine perfection of Sha’ul’s first transforming experience, as revealed in Acts 9:1-22, serves as a model to believers of the importance of continual transformation in all areas of our lives.On the road to Damascus, Sha’ul believed that he was headed to success, to rewards from man and God, and to self-fulfillment. Like him, we can’t see that destruction lies ahead unless Yeshua points it out to us. We’ve been trained our entire lives to see only what we want to see, just as Sha’ul was. It’s not until God uses the Light of the World to grab our attention that we have the opportunity to see and accept the truth: our sins lead us to death, separation from Him eternally and death in every form here on earth.The Messiah is the detour sign on our road to Damascus, a.k.a. destruction.
