The World's population is aging and thanks to advances in medicine, people are living longer; many however still contract various major medical conditions in different stages of their lives. This is a lively, personal account of working as a Caregiver in the Australian Healthcare System. Jonathan describes his experiences caring for a variety of people with a range of physical and mental disabilities. He describes the issues they cope with each day, the challenges he has faced and how he managed them during this period he calls ‘The Twilight Years.' Over several years, Jonathan builds up experience and knowledge of different diseases, helping make him a better carer, able to take on new clients with the confidence required to handle complicated situations. Jonathan writes with humour and affection and reveals elements of life that many people would not be aware of. The work prompts deep consideration of the lives of those he meets and leads to wider questions of what lies beyond the twilight years.
