Understanding Epidemiology: Concepts, Skills, and Application teaches undergraduate students the skills required to think critically about public health challenges. The text takes an interdisciplinary approach to solving epidemiological problems that mirrors epidemiology in practice. Students are exposed to the foundational principles of epidemiology and practice applying these principles using multiple methods. Students learn to read and use public health and health science literature to design appropriate epidemiological studies, ultimately becoming intelligent consumers of health information able to make distinctions and connections between public health practice and clinical medicine.The second edition includes additional case studies and examples designed to help undergraduates understand the concepts and applications of the science of epidemiology.
