He learns about fear and courage and through diverse perspectives of both his young protagonist and later as an adult, Mitchell looks back on those days of his childhood Boloker presents us with a textured and sensitive narrative. Brooklyn Yesterday is a work presenting universal themes, a throwback to quality fiction that must be read and appreciated.
