Each literacy guide contains seven activities in lesson plan format. The activities are selected to provide multiple opportunities for children to practice using words, events, themes and places in the selected childrens literature within the context of the book as well as their own lives. The literacy learning guides encourage children to use all five senses to understand the words, events and themes in the selected childrens literature as they develop attention span, fine motor skills, hand eye coordination etc. as they prepare for more complex tasks.
