Most argue environmental movements are a novelfeature of world politics. I argue that they are adurable feature of a degradative political economy.Past or present, environmental politics becameexpressed in religious change movements asoppositions to state environmental degradation usingdiscourses available. Ecological Revolution describescharacteristics why our historical states collapseand because of these characteristics are opposedpredictably by religio-ecological movements. As aresult, origins of our large scale humanocentricaxial religions are connected to anti-systemicenvironmental movements. Many major religiousmovements of the past were environmentalist bybeing health, ecological, and economic movements, rolled into one. Since ecological revolutions areendemic to a degradation-based political economy, they continue today. China, Japan, and Europe areanalyzed over 2,500 years showing howreligio-ecological movements get paired againstchosen forms of state-led environmental degradationin a predictable fashion. The book describessolutions to this durable problematic as well. Itshould be useful to all people seeking solutions toenvironmental problems.
