The articles discuss various theological issues that in the past have been controversial in the Church, such as the Trinity or Godhead, early Christian creeds, the Christological controversies of the fourth century, the doctrines of the impassibility and immutability of God, the influence of Greek philosophy on early Christianity, Luther and the Reformation, and other theological issues. The last article is about the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg. The first edition of this book was published in paperback in 2016, and the second edition in 2019. Since then many changes and improvements were made to articles which warranted publishing a third edition.
