The authors transcribed data from microfilm available from the Library of Virginia for marriages reported between 1881 and 1900, then compared this information to the actual license and return (whenever possible) and to the marriage books available in the Clerks Office, Loudoun County Court House, Leesburg, Virginia. The authors found much information which was not included on the microfilm and have added it to the transcription. Arranged alphabetically by the grooms surname, a typical entry includes grooms name, brides name, date of marriage, place of marriage, race, previous marital status, place of birth, residence, occupation, date of license, consent, marriage official and date of return. An index to brides names completes this work.
