My name is Tesfalde and I was born in Asmara, Eritrea. At the end of 1997 I went to Sawa for military training. In Eritrea, everyone has to do military service. There’s no proper finishing time. So, sometime after I arrived in military camp, by the vision of God learning that my mother was dying, I went to Asmara. Understanding that I could not stay at home peacefully, after some days I escaped to Sudan then to Egypt, back to Sudan and then to Ethiopia. From Ethiopia I migrated to Australia at the end of 2003 and this is a story of my journey.I wrote this book to give special thanks to the Australian government, the Australian Catholic Migrant and Refugee Service, UNHCR, and refugee organisations in Australia generally, and to give my testimony to all Christians on what Lord Jesus has done for me.
