    The construction of this work is based on theoretical references from various authors, as well as works related to the development of software engineering, home automation engineering and sustainable development. This work describes the methodology of design and construction of an intelligent space model, which is supported by a software system with which to monitor and control the infrastructure or physical space and resources under protection. The intelligent space model was developed for one of the infrastructure areas of the 700`s building belonging to the Computer Systems engineering degree program of the Acapulco Institute of Technology. The work considers different sections of both domotic engineering and software engineering to contribute to energy saving, resource security and consequently information management to provide a sustainable development strategy for educational institutions, not only at the higher level but at all educational levels.
