Human platelet HPA-1 polymorphism is embedded in the N-terminal plexin/semaphorin/integrin (PSI) domain of the ß3 chain of the platelet integrin aIIbß3. HPA-1 polymorphism is responsible for neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia (NAITP).
