Presenting problems of major interest to current bioethics, such as genetic modification of organisms applied to crops, surrogacy and the relationship with other non-human animals - paying special attention to the risks that factory farms represent for humans and the biosphere - this work, of macrobioethical approach, will advocate what will be called the urgency of bioethics, that is, the creation of a forum for a global moral consensus that will serve as a basis for legal decisions of erga omnes effect on issues that inevitably affect all of humanity. In addition, it will be explained, from a philosophical position, why the current institutions are insufficient to attack bioethical problems of a global nature and how the creation of such a forum for a global moral consensus would serve as a foundation, as well as to initiate a political-legal institutional change that would make it possible to face, in the most consensual way possible, the multiple and growing number of situations of global concern.
